This is a Vintage French Advertising Card for my favorite treat, Chocolate!

Here is the back of the card.

This is a 1924 French Receipt. I did a translation online and what I could gather was that this receipt is for Rolls of Wallpaper with Silk Velvet Impressions. How Lovely! :)

This is a 1908 French Letter. I believe this letter is in regards to All Articles for Hairdressers.

Little Miss Abbie & New Free Images~Everything French

Hello my dear friends, I have been creating again! With working full time it has only been 20 minutes here and there in my work space but I enjoyed making this altered canvas so much! I followed the instructions I received in the wonderful Smitten Class I took from dear Nancy Maxwell James. The class project called for a cabinet card, but I was so inspired to create this piece with the beautiful ephemera pack I purchased from my dear friends Jill & Lemay of the Junkin Gypsies! Their ephemera packs are just overflowing with some of the most lovely images, vintage paper goods and so much more! In this project I used the vintage paper lace doily, vintage french book page, the beautiful little girl image and the sweet vintage calling card. I also added lots of vintage lace, buttons and ribbon flower from my collection and added the frame from a collage sheet around the little girl. The gorgeous pink seam binding is also from the Junkin Gypsies. They have such a fabulous Etsy Shop filled with some of the most beautiful treasures!

This altered canvas was created from my heart with much love as I was thinking of my very dear & sweet friend who I will be sending it to.
This is Little Miss Abbie. :)

Smitten Class Project to Share & Vintage Images

Hi Dear Friends...

I have been unbelievably busy here with work & my family. If only there were more hours in the day to do everything I want to do! :)

I did have some relaxing time yesterday though and finished my altered bottle for Nancy's wonderful Smitten Class! I have never created one of these bottles before and it was so much fun!

I used a Paper Whimsy collage sheet for the label and one of the beautiful images that I added to the silver picture frame. I have 3 of these frames, all different that I found at an estate sale a while ago and always wanted to use them in a project and I think this was the perfect one! Of course vintage lace was added from my collection which I love, my favorite silk ribbon trim around the Paper Whimsy label and crinkled ribbon from dear Polly's

Counting Your Blessings website. A couple of beaded dangles tied onto the ribbon and a crystal top from a glass bottle I purchased from our Michael's Store with a rhinestone button on top completes the bottle. I am learning so much in Nancy's class and it has been such a wonderful experience!

My friends I have some Vintage images to share with you today. As it is Valentine's Day tomorrow I hope you will enjoy these!

Art to Share & Vintage Images For You

Hi Dear Friends,

It seems like it’s been forever since I posted, January is over already and soon it will be Valentines Day…where did the time go? It has been so busy here! As some of you know I work for my son Jeff’s screen printing business. Well, my little part time job has become a full time job as his business is growing by leaps and bounds! I am just so very proud of Jeff, he is doing wonderful and it couldn’t make me happier!

Because of our work schedule lately my poor blog has been neglected and I am very far behind in Nancy’s Smitten Class that I signed up for. I did have some time over the weekend to complete my tag so I thought I would share it with you today.

The image I used is from my collection and it has been sitting on my work table for the longest time. I just love the way the Father is tenderly holding his little girl and how affectionately his little boy is resting his hand on his Father’s shoulder. It is just such a loving photograph and was so inspirational to me when creating this tag. I chose a line from a favorite poem of mine by E.E. Cummings for the sentiment, that line of the poem just seemed to fit perfectly to describe the very special love parents feel for their children.

Having Fun Learning Something New

Hi Dear Friends,

Hope you all had a beautiful Christmas! We had such a wonderful Christmas Day with my husband's family. There were 20 of us altogether so the day was filled with lots of fun and laughter! We have 2 little great-nieces and 2 great-nephews so it was such fun watching them opening their presents and spending special time with them.

We have so many Blessings in our lives, family & dear friends being the most precious of all!

I have been playing in PSE again and have been practicing making digital collages. I just love doing this, it really is quite addicting! I used digital elements from Studio Girls Scrapbook Graphics, the lovely Roses are from Paper Whimsy and the photo of the little girl is from the images on my blog. I've always wanted to try this and I'm having so much fun learning something new!

And I have a few things for you today, some new free images and an ATC I created!
I had so much fun creating this ATC last week for my swap partner Leslie of Junk Girl Studio for the Blissful ATC Swap.
I used a darling little fairy girl and sentiment "Little Petal of My Heart" from Paper Whimsy. I added silk ribbon trim to the little fairy's hair and also to the stack of envelopes and Stickles to her wings, around the edge of the ATC and the butterflies from Magic Moonlght Free Images.
I really enjoyed making this for Leslie and I hope she will like it!

This is a picture of the beautiful silk ribbon trim I used. I found this trim on ebay a while ago and the lovely satin and velvet ribbon was included...I just love it!

I hope you will enjoy the images I have for you. Two French postcards of the sweetest little baby and some pages from an antique poetry book that I have in my collection of children's books. The copyright date is 1895 and there is an inscription to Catharine Morris on Christmas Day, 1897.

Prayers Are Needed

As some of you might know, my dear Mom has Alzheimer's. Last week she had another stroke and is not doing well and is in the hospital. There has been a significant amount of bleeding in her brain causing pressure, so she is sleeping most of the time. With all she has been through, when I talk to her she still will try to open her eyes and smile at me. My friends if you could please say a prayer for my Mom it would mean more to me than you will ever know. My heart is breaking right now.

My sweet friends, I want you to know that you are all very special to me. Your visits and your endearing words that you leave for me have always meant so much.

Beautiful Gifts From My Dear Friend~

This week I received the most beautiful gifts from my dear friend Lynn of Her Creative Spirit!

I was absolutely thrilled to be the very lucky winner of her giveaway for this gorgeous tussie mussie that she created!

The package arrived the other day and when I opened it I was completely overwhelmed by her kindness and generosity! Not only did I find the tussie mussie, but Lynn also included such absolutely beautiful gifts as well!

I want to show you how stunningly Lynn wrapped the tussie mussie. Just look at this gorgeous vintage teacloth and lace & ribbon that it was wrapped in. I just love vintage linens & lace and have been collecting for years, and I especially love vintage white work embroidery, to me it is the most beautiful of all.
Thank you so very much sweetie!

Lynn also gifted me this beautiful white work embroidered bag that was filled with the loveliest scented potpourri and the prettiest hand crocheted pansy doily and linen and lace doily. I think they look so beautiful placed in the tussie mussie!

I was also thrilled beyond words to find 2 of Lynn's absolutely stunning pressed and dried flower creations. I have been loving them ever since I saw the pictures that she posted on her blog! Lynn dear, they are more beautiful than any words can say!

Hi sweet friends, I have some new images for you!

Hope you will enjoy these little sweeties!

I want to apologize for not getting around to visit. For the past couple of weeks I have been working at my son's screen printing business. He runs the business out of our garage and we have been so busy, which is very good, but it has been so hot here in Arizona and we have no air conditioning out there! Here's a picture of our garage turned shop. While we are working the garage door is open and the dryer is pulled half way out of the garage onto the driveway. You can see the blue dryer right next to the garage door behind the press.

After Jeff prints the shirts on the manual press he runs them through the dryer which has a conveyor belt at about 280 degrees to dry and set the ink. My job was taking the shirts off the dryer belt and stacking them flat by size on tables and then folding the order and packaging it back in the boxes. Even though it was very hot out there, Jeff and I really had a great time working together while his friend was on vacation. It was especially nice for me because I was able to spend extra time with Jeff, and that is what makes me so very happy!

Before I go, just wanted to share an ATC that I created in PSP with a couple of digi kits I bought on Etsy. I still have so much to learn though, but I really enjoyed trying something new and this was so much fun! :)

Making cards this week and New Free Images for you...

I was looking through the vintage photographs I have posted so far and realized I had very few with little boys. I hope you enjoy this offering sweet friends. :)

I enjoyed making some cards this past week. I recently joined a group over at the scrapbooking store I go to and we have been lovingly making cards to donate to Hospice patients. I can’t even begin to describe the wonderful feeling you get while making each card. It is so rewarding to think that our little cards could put a smile on someone's face.
It makes my heart so happy.

New free images for you sweet friends...

I have some new free images for you :) I just found this lovely vintage sheet music at the thrift shop the other day along with some other goodies. I hope you will enjoy
"The Little Old Garden".

and the lyrics, aren't they pretty?

I also found these lovely hand painted Bavarian plates at the thrift shop and I was so surprised & happy that they were only $2.00 each!

The next image for you is a page out of an antique Gift Book that I have had in my collection. I just love Catherine Klein's work and I think these Pansies are simply beautiful.

Over the past few weeks I've been trying to learn how to make folded ribbon roses and rolled fabric roses. I had so much fun creating these even though they took quite a bit of practice. I still need to work on the technique a lot more. :)

I also finished working on a mini book with pictures of my boys when they were little. I really enjoyed this project! I learned how to make this album from my dear friends over at the scrapbooking store that I go to. It was constructed using 3 envelopes which I think is such a wonderful way to recycle! If any of you would like to know how to put the envelope album together, let me know and I will post a tutorial. It's really fast and easy to make with a neat way to add pockets for tags also.

Here is a picture of a corner in my craft room with other books and a "7 Gypsies" printer's tray that I have made before.

Hi sweet friends~ I'm back and it feels like forever since I've been blogging. I had some health problems, but all is well now and I'm feeling so much better. I have been anxious to share images with you again so here is what I have for you today.

A Beautiful Gift Received...

beautiful giveaway! I was waiting with much anticipation for the package to arrive and when I checked my mail on Saturday this is what I found in the mailbox...

Just look how lovely the package was wrapped!
As I opened the package, first I smelled the most wonderful aroma and it was coming from the scented tissue paper! Then there was an envelope and inside Sharon had included the most beautiful hand made card!

Look how very beautiful the inside of the card is also! Oh thank you so much dear Sharon!

Under the card I found wrapped gifts, this is the first gift that I excitedly opened!

Isn't this the most gorgeous Easter egg! Just look at all the details and the sweet image on the egg, oh I just love it Sharon!
In the next package I unwrapped I found this...

...very beautiful note pad tied with with such a lovely satin ribbon! Even the flowers have a dusting of the prettiest glitter!!
I was so thrilled at what I had received and then I saw peeking out from beneath yet another tissued wrapped gift was this very lovely...

...vintage daisy pin!! Isn't it just so beautiful? I was absolutely overwhelmed by Sharon's generosity and I could hardly believe she had included another gift!! When I opened the tissue paper this is what I found...

...the most gorgeous shoe I have ever seen!!

Just look at how beautifully Sharon created this!! It is truly a work of art, isn't it amazing!!

It is a lovely pink drawstring bag with Roses! At this point I had a tear in my eye as I was so overwhelmed by Sharon's generosity and kindness. I wonder what could be inside? Shall we take a look...

When I opened the bag, I found the most exquisite bracelet that Sharon had lovingly created!!! Look at this magnificent work of art with all of the tiny seed beads and crystals in the prettiest shades of pink and the perfect finishing touch is this lovely Vintage button closure!!

Little Shamrock Fairy Project for UHU

Hi sweet friends~

Have you ever tried UHU glue stick? This month's theme over at UHU is "Luck". This is the kit that

you will receive~

I received the star box in my kit and this is what I came up with~

A little Shamrock Fairy. :)

I have always wanted to try making one of these little fairies so I thought why not for the UHU project! :)

The image is one that I have shared with you previously and she is dressed in an eyelet lace skirt made from a vintage doily. Her petticoat is a piece of tulle and I cut her hat & and wand from a Creative Scraps sheet from the Heartwarming Vintage Collection by Crafty Secrets.

Of course I had to have a little pink somewhere in the project :), so I added some scraps of paper I had in my stash accenting the green paper that was included in the kit. The foam shamrocks were in the kit and I dressed them up by adding a touch of Stickles and green rhinestone centers.

I really enjoyed using the UHU glue stick...it goes on purple so you can be sure you have even coverage and dries clear and the holding power is fantastic!

Hope you are all having a great weekend!

I wanted to share with you what I was working on last week. :)

I always bring my Mom a little gift when I go and visit her at the group home along with her favorite treat, home made cookies! :) Since Valentines Day is coming up I wanted to give her something special, so I made this LOVE banner for her. I am going to visit Mom tomorrow and can hardly wait to give her the banner! :)

I don't know if you heard, but two weeks ago we had some very heavy rain storms here in Arizona and this is what I found when I went over to check on Mom's house. Part of the kitchen ceiling had caved in! I had no idea that her roof was even leaking, so it was quite a shock to see this and quite a mess to clean up. My dear husband Tom spent last weekend up on the roof replacing shingles and then repairing the damage inside. What a way to spend the weekend, I just felt so bad for him having to do all this work.

Now on to the free images I have for you! Here are 2 more postcards of beautiful Violets & red Roses. The postcard in my previous post and these 2 are part of a "Language of the Flowers" set. I hope you will enjoy using these postcards in your creative endeavors!

I am so happy to be back blogging again, I have missed you! I have been busy spending time with my family and learning to do paper & digital scrapbooking. I have always wanted to learn so I thought what better time than the New Year, right? :) I have been going through all of our old family photos, sorting and scanning to my hearts delight! My Christmas was bittersweet as the precious memories I have of my son Stevie and our happy times together as a family flooded my thoughts every day. New Free Image For My Sweet Friends

I am back after the busy Holiday weekend and I hope you all had a beautiful Thanksgiving Day! I have been thinking of you sweet friends and will get around to visit everyone. :)

Since Christmas is right around the corner I wanted to share with you one of my favorite antique Victorian greeting cards. I have always loved this card as I think it has such beautiful garlands of pink forget-me-nots and the embossing and die-cutting is just gorgeous. This really is a small card, only about 4" tall, but when opened it is about 9" long. There is a sweet poem inside, "Christmas Wishes" written by Frances Ridley Havergal. I hope you will click on this link to read more about her. She was an extraordinary and amazing woman who dedicated her life, with all of her heart & soul, to our Lord Jesus in the 1800's.

She was quoted as saying, "I committed my soul to the Saviour ... earth and heaven seemed brighter from that moment; I did trust the Lord Jesus."

Keepsake Book & New Free Image

Hi Sweet Friends~

This is what I have been working on lately...

It is a Keepsake book to hold some of the special memorabilia that I have.

All of the memorabilia was given to me when my dear Great Aunt Katie passed away several years ago at age 97. She was the sweetest and most loving person to everyone and my very favorite aunt. I was very close to her and I miss her so very much. I never saw her without a smile on her face and a twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes! She left me what I think are her most personal & treasured things such as love letters & cards from her husband, many family photographs from the early 1900's (many are just loose photos and there are also 3 albums of photos), postcards, letters dating back to 1898 and papers of her father's which even have red wax seals. The oldest one is dated 1821! They are just absolutely amazing! The only thing is they are all in German as this side of the family was from Marlow Germany. However, I was thrilled the other night when my husband came home from work and told me that there is a new instructor at school that is from Germany and she has graciously offered to translate them for me! I have no idea what these documents are so I am really looking forward to showing her everything!
The book is not finished yet, so I will show you what I have done so far. I really love how the cover turned out. The photo I used is of my Great Aunt Carla on the left, my dear Grandma is seated in the middle, and my Great-Aunt Katie is on the right. The photo is mounted on dark brown card stock with black photo corners and attached to a wonderful image of a letter from The Graphics Fairy. Vintage filet lace with ruffled edge brown ribbon was added above and below the photo. In the top corner I added a lace rose and velvet flowers and leaves from Flights of Fancy, and then I attached the antique buttons. The edge of the page has been trimmed with more of the filet lace with Roses that I just love.

I also attached 2 pieces of gathered vintage lace to place above and below the center lace flower and added vintage rhinestones to the edge.

I have all the background papers glued in place on both sides of the book. Now I just want to collage a few more things to the pages, add a little more lace and finish the pockets.

I'm just starting to embellish the pockets with vintage lace, trims and flowers. I also added a locket with a vintage clip-on earring glued to the center (after removing the clip) and attached it to the pocket with a silk ribbon bow.

I am just having so much fun putting this book together! When I am finished I'll show you how it all turned out. :) Now for your free image!
This is a lovely vintage Tuck's 1908 postcard that I found at an antique shop. I just fell in love with the sweet little girl nestled in the violets. Hope you like this postcard too!

New Free Image & Thrift Shop Goodies

Hello sweet friends~

Hope you are all having a great week so far! Our weather here in Arizona is just gorgeous today. My thermometer out back says 85 and with the breeze it feels so good. It looks like our 100+ degree weather is finally over...Hooray!!

I went to the thrift shops over the weekend and wanted to share with you the treasures I found. You know how I love vintage lace, well I also love hankies and linens as well. :) I was thrilled when I found these beautiful linen hankies with such lovely and delicate tatted lace trim! I also found what I call a guest towel (also could be used as a runner). I put these lovely towels out when company is coming over. :) The towel is vintage linen damask and is edged in wide tatted lace trim.

The photo below shows everything with my Grandma's antique Nippon china that I have on our buffet~

Now on to your image! :) Today I have for you a vintage postcard with a very pretty little girl. Her eyelet lace dress is just beautiful and she has large bows in her long curled hair. She also has a necklace on with a photo and a brooch pinned to her dress. I just love her beautiful doll laying beside her dressed in her eyelet lace dress! Hope you enjoy!

Vintage Lace & New Free Images

Hello Sweet Friends~

I thought I would share with you some of the vintage lace I have in my collection.
This past week I have been working on a keepsake book and I have been going through
my collection to find pieces of lace that I could use in creating this special
book. This box is filled to the brim with many varieties of lace...

I love this piece that was once part of the bodice of a dress. I especially love Irish crochet and embroidered net lace...

Hope you have enjoyed seeing my vintage lace! I used to go to estate sales almost every week before my Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Eventually we moved my dear Mom in with us because she couldn't live by herself anymore and I was constantly worrying about her. About a month ago my Mom got to the point to where I could no longer care for her. It broke my heart to see her decline so rapidly. She now lives in a group home, a private home where there are only about 6 residents. I felt it was so much better for her to be in a home-like setting rather than in a large care center. I visit Mom several times a week, and my heart hurts so much to
see the change in her. What happened to the Mom I used to know, I just want to hug her and tell her to come back to me the way she used to be. So I am struggling trying to deal with her decline from this horrible disease. I went to see her yesterday afternoon and we really had a nice visit. Before I left I held her face in my hands, gave her a kiss and told her how very much I loved her. I asked her "are you happy Mama?" and she said she was so very happy and then she said goodbye "deary", and that just sounded so strange, because she never used to call me "deary". So for yesterday, I don't know if she realized that I was her daughter.

Thank you so much for listening, sometimes it just helps to write about how you're feeling. I hope you will understand. You have all been so kind to me and I want to thank you so much.

Now for your images! I found the calling card and the Victorian scrap at our neighborhood scrapbooking store Crop Girls the other day. The owner sells bags of vintage ephemera for $2.50! Isn't the handwriting beautiful? Oh I would love to be able to write like that! I also have a sweet little girl for you all dressed up in her party dress! Don't you just love her darling little shoes! Enjoy!

I love to collect vintage greeting cards and wanted to share this one with you. This card was made in Germany in the early 1900's and measures 3"x5". I really like how it was made with the inner paper, the scalloped edges of the cardstock, and the tassel. The embossed pink roses are lovely and aren't the birds on the inside so sweet! I hope you will enjoy this little card!

It has really been hot & humid here in Arizona, too hot to do much of anything outside unless you go swimming. It will reach 115 today and 116 degrees tomorrow! Hope you are having much cooler weather than we are!
Today's image is a vintage cabinet card with a sweet little girl standing by a rocking horse. This little sweetie is wearing her best eyelet dress & shoes, and holding flowers in her hands. I just love how they used to dress back then!

Hi Everyone!
I have 3 images for you today. A vintage cabinet card with an adorable little girl holding a flower basket, a vintage postcard with a friendship poem and a Happy Birthday postcard.

I have also added a few pictures of my patio with my pots of summer flowers. Mostly Vinca and Moss Roses with blue Plumbago and yellow Coreopsis & Marigolds, 2 of my favorites. I love their yellow and orange coloration and I think they look so pretty planted together! My Sweet Pea puppy is down near the end of the patio, she is such a little character!

Little Hummingbird Visitors

Hi Everyone!

I had 2 little Hummingbird visitors this morning while having coffee on my patio! They are just so sweet...the female is starting to get a little brave and comes by to see me every morning. She will feed and then once in a while she will fly about 2feet in front of my face, take a quick look and off she goes as quick as she came. It is just so cute! Click on the photos to see a larger image.) I tried to take a movie of the little male, but it is a little shaky and not too clear. If you turn your volume up though, you can here his tiny chirps! (turn off my Playlist of music in the side bar)

Hello everyone!
Hope you are all having a lovely day with family and friends!

I have been doing a bit of gardening this past week. When our weather warms up here in Arizona it is time to re-plant with our summer annuals. I went to our garden center and brought home some of my favorite's...Vinca, Moss Roses (Portulaca) and Blue Salvia!
I just love the colors of these beautiful flowers!

I didn't get a chance to take pictures of everything planted in my pots and raised flower bed, but as soon as I do I will post them so you can see!

Now I would like to introduce you to little Elsa! This precious baby girl was born in Germany many, many years ago. I was just thrilled to discover that the photo was identified on the back! This doesn't happen very often so that made this vintage photo all the more endearing to me! I hope you will enjoy this image!

I found the most wonderful book over the weekend, "Creating Vintage Cards" by Jill Haglund. I was so inspired by all of the beautiful handmade cards, they are just spectacular! All of the cards and tags that were created are with vintage photos and ephemera which I just love to collect! I found the book at Borders Book Store, but you might want to see if your library has a copy.

Your image today is vintage sheet music "Peg O' My Heart", one of my favorites, starring Miss Laurette Taylor. The play opened on Broadway on 12/20/1912 to 5/1914. It reopened on Broadway at the Court Theater on Feb. 14th, 1921. You can learn more about Laurette Taylor by clicking here.

New Free Image ~ Godey's Fashion

We have been having such beautiful weather here in Arizona lately. Last week in the 80's and this week in the 90's. I am really enjoying it because before too long it is going to be so hot that you won't even want to go outside!

So, I have been spending some relaxing time out on my patio in my lounge chair every day enjoying the flowers and catching up on some reading.

And never far from my side are my 2 sweet constant companions, my Buddy boy & my Little Sweetpea!

I have a couple of Godey's fashions for you today from the June 1868 issue of Godey's Ladies Book, written by Mrs. Sarah H. Hale & L.A. Godey. The 1st image is in better condition than the 2nd, but not too bad for being so old.

They are both very old and the one with the woman is not in the best of shape, but I do love her pretty face. Hopefully with a photo editing program you could restore the image. I really love collecting photo postcards and cabinet cards. When I look at each of their faces I always wonder what their names were, where they lived, and what their live's were like.

I enjoy collecting photographs of children so much and I am always so happy when I find one at an estate sale or at the thrift shops. The first group photo is on a postcard, the 2nd one is a cabinet card. I have also included pages from an 1875 ledger that belonged to the Family Grocers on 52 Frederick St. & 16 Nicolson Street in Edinburgh.

Each postcard has a wonderful photograph of an actress from a movie they starred in...Grace Darmond, Constance Talmadge, Irene Castle and Miss Dupont.
